Deirdre Keenan

2024 Summer Intern

Deirdre Keenan is a Pogue Scholar and rising senior majoring in Public Policy. Originally from Holly Springs, North Carolina, Deirdre is passionate about corporate social responsibility and leveraging business as a force for social good through sustainable practices, community engagement, and public-private partnerships. After participating in a Maymester course in San Francisco, she connected with Carolina alumni in the corporate social responsibility space and was eager to further explore the intersection of business and social impact.

As an ACES Intern, she is focusing on developing a corporate sustainability strategy guide for apparel and textile companies, helping them measure their impact and select the appropriate ESG reporting frameworks. Deirdre aims to leverage the skills she will gain during this internship to pursue a career in the corporate social responsibility and social impact spheres. Outside of the classroom, Deirdre enjoys long-distance running, traveling, and going to concerts.
