In May a group of 23 lucky MBA students travelled to Iceland with Professor Olga Hawn for the Global Immersion Elective course focused on Sustainability.

There was a lot to celebrate at the 2022 UNC Sustainability Awards and Graduation event.

The UNC Clean Tech Summit was back in-person in 2022 with over 810 total registrants, half of those students from UNC Chapel Hill and our sister Triangle Universities.

As a global population, if we want to succeed in tackling climate change, we need to invest in medium- and low-income (emerging and developing) economies in an impactful and meaningful way. The Center for Sustainable Enterprise (CSE) pulled together experts working in these markets around the world to share why this is so important and to discuss the challenges and opportunities for investment.

On October 29, Kenan Flagler’s Net Impact Club hosted its annual Careers with Impact Forum. Themed, “A New Way of Doing Business,” the in-person event welcomed MBA, undergraduate students and alumni to learn about ways to integrate sustainability and impact into any business career.

Get inspired while helping to develop the next generation of leaders in impact investing and blended finance by becoming a judge for Launching Investment for Future Transformation (LIFT) sponsored by Bank of America. The charge is for student teams to devise plausible blended finance strategies for sustainability initiatives that will drive social equity and economic mobility.
We will need your help to evaluate these student proposals. You can help determine which strategies are the most innovative and which will earn a portion of $15,000 USD in prizes

Earth Day was highlighted by the Center for Sustainable Enterprise’s UNC Sustainability Awards, sponsored by Bank of America and Trane Technologies. This year’s virtual event included a mix-along with Scott Maitland of Top of the Hill Brewery and Distillery and a dinner cook-along with Jacob Boehm of Snap Pea after the ceremony.

The finals of the India Impact Challenge powered by Quantum Advisors will feature keynote speakers Simone Robbers, Assistant Governor and General Manager of Governance, Strategy and Corporate Relations, Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Adjit Dayal (MBA ’83), founder of Quantum Advisors.

On April 9, 2021 30 MBA students from around the world competed in the 15th annual Invest for Impact competition organized by the Net Impact Club at UNC Kenan-Flagler. Hosted for the first time in a virtual format, the students acted as venture capitalists, interviewing entrepreneurs whose businesses have a social impact focus, conducting due diligence, and preparing a term sheet.
