In March 2023, the Ackerman Center for Excellence in Sustainability will host the inaugural ACES Roundtable, where this year’s focus will be on carbon removal. This invitation-only event will provide a unique opportunity for leaders of carbon removal companies, pioneers in an industry that is essential to averting the worst effects of climate change, to convene in a pre-competitive, Chatham House Rules discussion forum. They will discuss the issues that matter most in their efforts to perfect nascent technologies, sustain their companies and launch the carbon removals industry, finding ideas and solutions through candid conversation with their peers. ACES leadership and UNC faculty will facilitate small-group roundtables based around the pressing questions that carbon removal leaders identify. Attendees are also invited to attend the 2023 UNC Clean Tech Summit prior to the ACES Roundtable, where they can engage with audiences in carbon-removal themed panels, network with other clean tech leaders and engage with students through the clean tech job fair and mentoring program. Industry leaders will receive their exclusive invitations in December; if you believe your organization is a good fit for this roundtable, please reach out to us at aces@unc.edu.
