TaVon Cates is a junior from Durham, North Carolina. His major is Environmental Science with a minor in Cognitive Science. His goals are to appreciate, understand, help, and guide individuals who are not sure where they belong. 

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Solitude are sustainable to human life. Everyone should be treated with respect and dignity no matter which walk of life they come from. His ideas stem from the inability of minorities to seek higher-education. As a minority, higher-education was perceived as unattainable in his eyes. As he opens his eyes, he wants that same dream to be more attainable for those who come after him.
