BLiS Orientation in Asheville

From May 16-20, 2022 the Ackerman Center for Excellence in Sustainability (ACES) hosted BLiS (Business Leaders in Sustainability) summer interns and ambassadors for a sustainability orientation experience in Asheville, NC to engage both local alumni and other professionals in our work. MBA Sustainability Global Immersion to Iceland

In May a group of 23 lucky MBA students travelled to Iceland with Professor Olga Hawn for the Global Immersion Elective course focused on Sustainability.

ACES Faculty Director News

Ackerman Center for Excellence in Sustainability (ACES) faculty director Dr. Olga Hawn received a full-time MBA All Stars Teaching Award for the 2021-22 academic year. She was recognized for teaching in the full-time MBA program's core curriculum; this award demonstrates her continued commitment to EXCELLENCE in teaching and to exposing all MBA students to the pillars of sustainability.

Dr. Hawn and the Sustainable Enterprise concentration at Kenan-Flagler are also featured in a recent AACSB article, " Integrated Approaches to Teaching Sustainability ," which highlights the recent renaming and endowment of ACES as well as increasing the focus on sustainability across the MBA program.
